I have passed another Milestone this week and I’m pretty happy about it. 101 Options trades made so far, 54 this year. At 10,000 I’ll be an expert, right? Well, I’m 1% of the way there. In other news, I am not sure if I was setting my trades up for dividend reinvestment in the proper way, I was having trouble making that switch on the phone and then on the computer it said that switch wasn’t made. So I’ll just have to wait and see and hopefully I have it worked out going forward. Let’s get into it because, as usual, I am short on time.

First up is the Taxable account, last week’s Put was assigned, I now have 100 shares of EPD at a cost of $22 a share. I sold the $22 Call for this week and got $13 for the premium. I am not going to make any money in growth, but that’s okay for now. Add that premium to the rest of the option income for this month and I am going to end February with $67 in option income. I also deposited $270. I’ll give a full breakdown of everything Friday when I do a monthly review.

In the Options IRA T was assigned on its $29 Call which in hindsight I could have held out for $29.50 since my cost per share was $29.24, but I used the dividend to offset my cost. T’s profit was $152.15 (5.25%), $124.15 from options, $52 from dividends, growth was -$24. Without the dividends I wouldn’t have let this go yet, so maybe that is a strategy for stocks I get stuck in. IP was rolled for another $43.35 in premiums, and I didn’t have enough cash to go after a ex-dividend stock in the Options IRA so I sold a $34 Put on PFE and collected $23.35. Total premiums this week was $66.70 bringing this month’s options income to $436.85, again a full breakdown will be Friday.

Finally in the Rollover MCY, UNM, and PBCT are all gone, they were all assigned. I can now focus my attention on weekly optionable stocks. MCY’s total profit was $398.35 (7.24%) with $119.35 from options. UNM’s total profit was $299.85 (11.99%) with $65.35 from options and $28.50 from dividends. PBCT’s total profit was $247.35 (16.49%) with $22.35 from options and $18 from dividends. Both UNM and PBCT paid their dividends before the were assigned so that was a nice parting gift. I was able to pick up 2 ex-dividend trades in this account this week, the first one was GLW with a Buy/Write at $37.82 a share and a $38 Call that I got $33.35 for. HIG was the second with a Buy/Write at $50.15 a share and a $50.5 Call for $49.35. I also rolled WBA and IBM for $17.35 and $30.35 respectively. Total option income for this week was $130.40 bringing this month’s total up to $355.50.

That’s all I got for now, Friday will be the monthly review, I’ll compare this months performance to January’s and I’ll reexamen my goals with February’s data and maybe even look at ways to make better options decisions.
